Woolgoogla Boomerang Bags group meet every third Sunday of the month to sew and create the bags. Come along to their July sewing bee to see how it is done!
The bags made are distributed to local cafes and stores within the community to encourage people to go without a plastic bag! They also sell some of their bags at local markets!
Boomerang Bags works to reduce the use of plastic bags by engaging local communities in the making of Boomerang Bags – community made, using recycled materials. Boomerang Bags provide a free, fun, sustainable alternative to plastic bags.
By getting involved, you are participating in a global movement, celebrating a grassroots initiative focusing on community building and sustainability.
Living Lightly, the Sustainable Living program of Coffs Harbour City Council, is delivering a series of FREE workshops and events as part of the Plastic Free July 2018 program.
