Join local fermentation guru and producer Tom Rothsey for this practical workshop at the glorious Community Gardens in Coffs Harbour.
Herbal infusions can be as simple as rosemary vinegar, or as complex as fire cider, but all offer a way of utilising produce form your garden and reducing wastage of seasonal produce. Vinegar infusions have been a popular method for preserving the flavour and nutrient content of seasonal foods since at least the time of the ancient Greeks and are easily used in the place of vinegar, adding new dimensions of taste to even the simplest salad dressing.
In this workshop, you will make your own vinegar infusions from herbs gathered from the gardens or that you can grow in your own home garden, as small or as big as it may be. Organic apple cider vinegar will be provided, all you need do is come along with a clean 500 ml jar (please re-purpose a jar you have used, don’t buy a new one!).
Tom will have some examples of his own herbal infusions for you to sample and the Gadens will provide refreshments.
Bookings are essential for all attendees including children over the age of 4. Please BYO jar and remember to wear enclosed shoes!
