Coramba Nature Reserve & Upper Orara Riverbank Walk

Location: Meet at Coramba Nature Reserve, Orara Way, Coramba

Time: From 10am

Description: Coramba Nature Reserve is the largest remnant of Lowland Subtropical Rainforest on Floodplain in the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area (LGA). The day includes a picnic lunch, tea and coffee, provided at the Upper Orara Recreation Ground. From there, the Cochrans Pool Urumbilum RiverCare Group will lead an inspiring riverbank walk where they have been working on regenerating the rainforest. Come and learn about how these corridors link to well forested hill slopes in surrounding National Parks and State Forests for biodiversity conservation at the landscape scale.

Backyard Bird Conservation Walk and Talk

Presenter: Brian Hawkins

Location: North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens – walk and talk

Time: 3.00 – 4.30pm

Description: Learn about seasonal cycles of resource availability, and how targeted plantings can help conserve Threatened fruit- and nectar-eating birds in the Coffs Harbour area. Then go on a short walk to observe birds and the plants they use.
