Graduates

Thank you to all involved in making the first round of household workshop programs so successful. One participant of the program said “I thought I knew all about these topics…and found out I had much still to learn.” There was fantastic participation and over 40 graduates of the program are now moving on to organise their community projects.

In Eungai Creek they are insulating the roof of the community hall which currently is freezing in winter and hot in summer. The Taylors Arm group are designing a community website to promote their markets, local businesses and community more generally. Scotts Head graduates are putting into action their new found knowledge on composting and worm farming by purchasing composting tumblers and worm farms for backyards and the school. We’re also looking into getting native bee hives for participants.

Pictured here are the Eungai Creek group. They were so influenced by the program that non-toxic cleaning agents like vinegar and essential oils have since become a popular seller at the local store.

The program helped put together a total picture of the way we can bring about improved environmental outcomes in our home and wider community.” – Eungai Creek participant.
