Julie has a vast background of volunteering in the community with many different organisations, first in Sydney and now in Coffs Harbour where she has lived since 1992. Julie has qualifications in nursing, mental health and event management. The Coffs Harbour Orphans Christmas at the Botanical Gardens was started by Julie Eight years ago, and it was through this, she realised the high number of disadvantaged people living in Coffs Harbour.

Always aware of the amount of good edible food being thrown into landfill, Julie decided to join Oz Harvest, and become the Co-ordinator of their regional program called Reap Food Rescue. In the past 12 months Coffs Reap has rescued over 20 tonne of food from food outlets and farms and re-distributed them to the needy in our community.

Julie is passionate about finding ways people can reduce food wastage in the home and in society.

Our Living Coast is a joint project of the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen & Nambucca Councils
