Coffs Ambassadors Tour Guide for ‘Sea Turtles of the Solitary Islands’ and ‘The Great Sea Turtle Adventure’
Since moving to Emerald Beach 6 years ago, Karla has enjoyed her regular walks around Look At Me Now Headland to watch for sea turtles and other wildlife.
When she saw the call for Ambassadors in 2012, Karla decided that she could apply her science degree in coastal management and work experience with sea turtle research and conservation in North Queensland, to create a tour of ‘her patch’ on a topic that she loved.
Her passionate nature is always well received by the locals and tourists who come on her tour and she is a welcome addition to the Coffs Ambassadors team.
As well as being a Coffs Ambassador, Karla is also an active member of the Serenity Beach Landcare group and the United Residents Group of Emerald (URGE) who work for positive social & environmental outcomes for the community.
