Coffs Harbour City Council delivers a number of Sustainable Living programs, three of which have been funded by Council’s Environmental Levy (EL) Grants Program. The three programs that make up the EL project package are collectively called the Community Sustainable Living Program, and consist of:

  • Coffs Ambassadors Tours,
  • Green Schools Environmental Sustainability Grants, and
  • Sustainable Living Festival/Event

We have been informed that our 2017/18 Community Sustainable Living Program application has not been recommended for funding by the Environmental Levy Committee.

Should these recommendations be adopted by Council in June, we will not have the resources to continue to run in 2017/18 those programs that are part of our Community Sustainable Living Program. However our core-funded Sustainable Living programs, Living Lightly and Our Living Coast, are planned to continue.

We have been advised that the Environmental Levy Committee recommendations for the 2017/18 grants program will be the subject of a report that is planned to go to a Council meeting to be held on 8 June 2017. We anticipate that the business paper (agenda) containing that report should be published on Council’s website around 2 June.

Council will also be making a final determination on its draft Delivery Program, including next year’s Operational Plan and budgets, at its meeting on 22 June 2017. These draft documents are currently on public exhibition. Members of the community can provide feedback on these documents via the public submission process. The link for this submission process, which includes copies of the draft documents, is provided below:

Public Submissions close at 5pm on Monday, 29 May 2017.

Our Living Coast is a joint project of the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen & Nambucca Councils
