Gearing up to conquer Plastic Free July
Thinking about making a pledge for Plastic Free July (PFJ)? Head to the Plastic Free July website and then make use of the Change-Maker Toolkit we’ve put together for you. We have a swap out list filled with alternatives to plastics, recipes for making your own beauty and cleaning products (sans the plastic container and nasty chemicals) and MORE! Make some time to discover the local businesses in your area who are providing alternative options for you to buy meat, chicken, fruit and veg as well as staples like pasta all plastic free!
From a waste and recycling perspective, if you’re choosing which plastics to avoid try to steer clear of as many “soft, scrunchie” plastics as possible. These cannot be recycled via your household yellow bin, and so if you do want to recycle them you need to take them to your local RedCycle bin at Coles.
Whilst we should all be trying to cut down on our hard plastics too, such as your yoghurt container and milk bottles, these are at least recyclable via your yellow household bin.
