Kangaroo - Film Screening at Bellingen Memorial Hall

Next date: Tuesday, 14 April 2026 | 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Join us at Bellingen Memorial Hall for the launch of our brand-new program Kids Halliday Cinema, a series of children’s and family film screenings running during the school holiday period. It’s the perfect chance for kids and families to enjoy a fun movie experience together in the hall.

Our first screening is Kangaroo! A heart-warming family comedy set in the Australian Outback.

When former TV personality Chris Masterman finds himself stranded in a remote town outside Alice Springs, his life takes an unexpected turn. There he meets Charlie, a spirited 12-year-old Indigenous girl. Together they form an unlikely friendship and begin rescuing and caring for orphaned joeys in their beautiful but remote Outback community. What starts as a simple act of kindness soon becomes a journey that changes both of their lives.

Inspired by the true story of Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs, Kangaroo! is a funny, uplifting and heartfelt film the whole family can enjoy.

Bring the kids, grab some popcorn & choc tops and join us for the first of many Kids Halliday Cinema screenings these holidays!
