WORLD OCEANS DAY & THE NATIONAL MARINE SCIENCE CENTRE
Celebrated each year on 8 June since 2009, World Oceans Day is an opportunity to raise global awareness of the challenges faced by the international community in connection with the oceans.
To mark World Oceans Day and with funding assistance from Inspiring Australia, the Coffs Harbour Regional Science Hub and Southern Cross University’s National Marine Science Centre will be screening the acclaimed documentary “Rubber Jellyfish”.
Rubber Jellyfish is a feature-length documentary that explores the effects of helium balloons on the environment, wildlife and human beings. Mum-to-be Carly Wilson travels around Australia and explores problems around the world, seeking to understand the science and various points of view regarding balloons.
Meet Carly after the screening to gain further insight on her path to discovering the confronting truth behind our favourite party product.
